Privacy notice

Last updated: October 17, 2026

This is a translation of the Spanish notice. If the two differ, the Spanish version governs.

For anyone who visits solartrade.com, asks for a quote or buys from Solar Trade, and for the other people whose information appears in a project: the co-owner, the spouse, the co-signer and the LUMA account holder.

The essentials

  • Solar Trade Corp. sells and installs solar energy systems, batteries and other home products in Puerto Rico. This notice explains what information about you we keep, what for, who we share it with and how long we keep it.
  • Your proposal is prepared on our platform by an independent sales representative. Your file is seen by that representative, by those who supervise them and by our staff.
  • If you apply for financing, your file reaches the credit union only if you authorize it by typing your name, and you can withdraw that authorization.
  • We do not keep your full Social Security number in our database: only the last four digits, encrypted. Documents that show it in full are kept in a private space and deleted after 25 months.
  • We do not sell your information or give it to anyone so they can sell you something, and our site does not use analytics or advertising tools.
  • To find out what we have, correct it or ask for a copy, write to privacidad@solartrade.com.

1. Who we are and who this notice covers

Solar Trade Corp. («Solar Trade», «we») is a Puerto Rico corporation, with a mailing address at PO Box 6831, Mayagüez, Puerto Rico 00681. We sell and install solar energy systems, batteries and other home products.

This notice covers visitors to solartrade.com, people who ask us for a quote, and our customers. It also covers the other people whose information appears in a project: the co-owner of the property, the spouse, the co-signer and the LUMA account holder, if that is not the customer. If you give us someone else’s information, make sure they know you are giving it to us.

Our sales representatives are independent contractors. They prepare your proposal on our platform, and their contract with us requires them to protect your information.

2. What we collect on solartrade.com

  • What you type in the quote tool and in our forms: your name, email, phone, municipality and anything you tell us about your usage or your home.
  • Your LUMA bill, if you upload it. An artificial intelligence provider reads it automatically to extract your usage, the account holder, the account number and the addresses. We keep the bill and what was read from it, even if you never leave us your contact information.
  • The point you mark on the map, to estimate your roof from aerial imagery.
  • Your signature, if you request a formal proposal: the name you type to sign the request, with the date, the time and the IP address you sign from.
  • Technical data about your visit: your IP address, your browser, the approximate location that corresponds to that IP and, if you came from an ad or a link, where you came from.
  • A number in your browser. We store a random number in your browser to recognize you if you come back for another quote. It is erased if you clear the site’s data in your browser.

We use your phone and email to contact you about your quote and your project. The site does not use analytics tools or advertising pixels.

3. What we collect to prepare your proposal

About you and your home

  • Your name, address, municipality, ZIP code, phone numbers, email and the coordinates of your home.
  • How you heard about us and who referred you, if anyone did.
  • Your electric service: the LUMA account holder, the account number, the meter, the bill’s mailing address and your usage history. If you upload the bill, it is read automatically by the same artificial intelligence provider as on the site.
  • About the LUMA account holder: their occupation, their marital status and the last four digits of their Social Security number, which we keep encrypted.
  • Your property: the cadastral number, the area and the owner’s name according to CRIM. To find them we use your home’s coordinates on the public maps of CRIM and the Planning Board, and we keep a capture of what they show.
  • Your roof: aerial and satellite images of your home, and an automatic analysis of its shape to design the system.
  • Photos: the front of your home, your meter and your roof. Your representative may also take a photo with you as a record of the visit.
  • The co-signer, if there is one: their name, phone number and relationship to you.

When you view your proposal

Your proposal is a private page you reach through a link. When you open it, we record that you opened it, from which browser, and how long you spend on each part. Your representative sees this, to know what interests you and which questions to answer.

4. If you apply for financing

If you want to finance your system through a credit union, we ask for what the credit union needs to evaluate you:

  • Your ability to pay: your income, your debts, the down payment you can make, how many people live in your home and how long you have been at your job.
  • Your application: your employer and supervisor, your dependents, your marital status and your spouse, your debts with the last four digits of each account, and your residence.
  • Your documents: ID, pay stubs, tax returns, W-2 or 499R-2, bank statements, the Social Security letter, proof of pension, debt letters, your credit union membership, proof of address, the deed, the LUMA bill and your property insurance policy. Also the consent of your spouse or co-owner, when needed.

You can upload the documents yourself from your link, or your representative can. Your representative cannot open the ones you upload: they only see whether they have arrived.

We do not keep your full Social Security number in our database, and we do not accept a photo of your Social Security card. But some of these documents —the tax return, the W-2 or the Social Security letter— usually show it in full, and those documents are kept, in a private space.

Your authorization to the credit union

Your file reaches the credit union only if you authorize it, by typing your name on your link. The authorization covers a single credit union: if your case moves to another one, we ask you again. We keep your authorization with the date, the IP address and the browser you gave it from. You can withdraw it from the same link; withdrawing it does not undo what the credit union has already received.

The credit union sees your contact details, your proposal and the documents in your case. Every time it opens a document, that is recorded. We also keep the decision it makes on your application.

When the credit union’s application is completed and signed through DocuSign, you type your Social Security number, your driver’s license and your date of birth directly into DocuSign: they go to the credit union, and our platform does not keep them.

Credit pulls

Authorizing the credit union does not authorize us to pull your credit: if the credit union pulls it, it will do so with its own form and your signature. If Solar Trade ever pulls your credit, it will be only with your express authorization, and from that credit pull we will keep the decision —whether you prequalify, the tier, the rate, the term and your debt-to-income ratio— and nothing else: not your score, not your accounts, not the credit bureau report.

5. Signing and paying

When you sign your contract on our platform, we keep the name you type, your IP address, your browser, your time zone, how you accepted and the six-digit code we send to your email to confirm it is you. Without that information, the signature could not be attributed to anyone. What is signed is not changed afterwards.

If you sign through DocuSign, DocuSign receives your name and email, and those of your co-signer. We keep the signed contract and DocuSign’s certificate.

If you pay online, the payment is processed by Stripe: you type your email and card into Stripe, and your card numbers do not pass through us. We keep the charge, the amount, the date and the sales tax (IVU).

6. Your project

While your project is built, we keep its stages, the dates of each visit and the photos of the work, and we email you at each step. Your case has a private page, which you reach through a link, where you can see how it is going.

7. What we use it for

  • Preparing your quote and your proposal, and designing your system.
  • Evaluating your financing when you ask for it.
  • Preparing and signing your contracts, and collecting what was agreed.
  • Installing your system, handling its permits and its interconnection with LUMA, and providing service and warranty.
  • Letting you know about each step of your project.
  • Meeting our legal and tax obligations, including those of DACO and the IVU.
  • Protecting your information and detecting fraud.

We do not sell your information or give it to anyone so they can sell you something.

8. Who we share it with

Within Solar Trade

  • Your sales representative and those who supervise them within their sales group.
  • Our office, engineering and installation staff, each according to their role.

Outside Solar Trade

  • The credit union you authorize, to evaluate your financing.
  • Maxwell Power, if your system is contracted through its program: the information needed for your contract.
  • LUMA and the permitting agencies, to handle the interconnection, net metering and permits for your installation.

Those periods run on their own: every day, an automatic process deletes what has expired. If there is a claim, an investigation or a legal order in progress, we keep what is needed until it ends.

10. How we protect it

Information travels encrypted. Access is limited according to each person’s role, and those rules are enforced in the database, not only on the screen. Your documents are kept in private spaces, every time someone opens one it is recorded, and the last four digits of your Social Security number are encrypted with a separate key.

No system is infallible, and we do not promise you this one is. If an incident affects your information, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.

11. What you can ask us

  • To know what information about you we have, and to receive a copy of your file.
  • To correct it if it is wrong.
  • To delete it, except what the law requires us to keep, such as your signed contract and credit decisions.
  • To withdraw your authorization to the credit union, from your link.
  • To stop sending you promotional communications. Notices about your project are part of the service.

Write to us at privacidad@solartrade.com. To protect your information, we may ask you to confirm who you are before we answer. We respond within thirty days.

12. Minors

Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

13. Changes to this notice

If we change it, we will publish the new version on this page with its date. If the change is significant and we have your email, we will let you know.
